Wellbore Intervention

Express’ plug and abandonment equipment and personnel are available for what the oil industry calls well intervention. Well intervention occurs when work is performed on a well that is not going to be permanently abandoned, but may be returned to production. The crews and equipment can be utilized to set tubing plugs or casing plugs and then dump cement on top of the plugs, followed by perforating the new producing zone for a re-completion.

After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, wells and platforms were damaged, some beyond repair, while others could be returned to production. Many of the wells were bent over and submerged with the platforms. Express acted as project manager on many of these well intervention operations. We own or have access to all the equipment necessary for underwater cutting, sub-sea wellheads, ROV’s and of course perforating tools, plugs and cement. In addition we have a highly experienced engineering team will be involved from planning through execution.
