“Express’ offshore operations were established in 2000 and began offering plug and abandonment (P&A) services in Houma, Louisiana in 2005. With approximately 72% of the wells in the offshore area classified as non-producing, there are a significant number of wells requiring plug and abandonment. Express has equipment on hand to operate eight P&A jobs. P&A services are used on depleted or damaged wells that are no longer capable of producing oil and gas in commercial quantities. P&A services involve pumping fluids into the well to kill it, inserting cement plugs to permanently seal the wellbore and can include the removing of casing and/or tubing from the well so the well can be properly abandoned below the ocean floor.
